You're Trying So Hard to Do Everything Right. So Why Does Everything Still Feel So Hard?

You love God.
You're doing your best to be a good wife, a good mom, and a faithful Christian woman.
You're trying to do all the things you think you're supposed to do.
You wake up already overwhelmed.
You spend your day trying to keep everyone and everything together, only to find yourself snapping at the people you love most.
Then comes the guilt, the apology, and the promise that tomorrow you'll do better.
But tomorrow comes, and the same thing happens again.
Maybe you're not patient enough.
Maybe you're not grateful enough.
Maybe your faith isn't strong enough.
And when nothing seems to change, you start wondering:
"So why does everything still feel so hard?"
You've tried so hard to figure out why you feel this way. And when nothing seems to change, you start wondering whether the problem is you.
Your struggle is real. It's affecting your life. And you can't keep assuming that more of the same will eventually fix it.
You've Tried So Many Things. Why Do You Keep Ending Up Right Back Where You Started?
And some of those things probably have helped, at least for a little while.
But somehow, you keep finding yourself right back where you started.
So you try harder. You look for another strategy, another resource, another thing you can do differently.
But here's the problem: If you've been focusing on everything you're doing without recognizing what you believe underneath it all, adding another strategy may leave the same struggle untouched.
It's not that those other tools are bad or that you haven't tried hard enough.
It's that doing more of what you've already been doing may never answer the question you haven't known to ask.
The way you've been trying to solve this hasn't helped you recognize what may be underneath your burnout.
What If There's a Belief Underneath Your Burnout You Haven't Recognized?
What if the reason you keep ending up in the same place isn't that you haven't found the right routine yet or that you haven't tried hard enough? What if there's a belief underneath it all that you haven't even realized you're carrying?
Maybe it's why an unfinished to-do list can leave you feeling like the entire day was a failure. Why someone else's disappointment can weigh on you for hours. Or why, even when things seem to be going well, you still find yourself questioning whether you're doing enough.
You've experienced those thoughts and feelings so many times that they seem normal. You might not even stop to question them anymore. But what if the way you're interpreting those everyday experiences is being influenced by something you've come to believe about yourself, something that may not line up with what God says is true?
You can patch cracks in a house's walls and make everything look better for a while.
But if the foundation underneath is shifting, the cracks may keep coming back.
The cracks are real, and they still need attention. But repairing what's visible without examining what's underneath may leave part of the problem unresolved.
Your circumstances and daily struggles are real, too. But some of the pressure you're experiencing may also be coming from the beliefs through which you're interpreting them.
And if you don't realize you're carrying those beliefs, you may keep trying to change everything around you without ever questioning what's happening underneath.
Now you can begin to see another part of what may be keeping you stuck: an underlying belief you haven't recognized.
I Spent Years Trying to Get Better at Handling Life. So Why Was My Burnout Getting Worse?

My name is Tiffany Brannan. I've been a nurse since 2013 and a nurse practitioner since 2020.
I'd struggled with burnout for much of my nursing career, but nothing compared to what happened after I became a nurse practitioner in 2020. I was finishing my NP program when COVID hit, and I started my new career in the middle of a pandemic.
The expectations were overwhelming. Every day felt like trying to drink from a fire hose.
I remember crying on my way to work, already exhausted before the day had even begun.
“What if I make a mistake?
What if something happens to a patient and it's my fault?
What if I don't know the answer and everyone realizes I'm not capable of doing this job?”

By the end of most weeks, I'd find myself crying on the couch to my husband, wondering why I couldn't seem to get my life together.
Everyone else seemed capable of going to work and handling their responsibilities. Why couldn't I?
I told myself I needed to toughen up, stop complaining, and figure out how to handle life like everyone else.
And here's what made it even more frustrating.
I actually was getting better at my job.
Over time, I became more competent, more efficient, and more comfortable with my responsibilities. I received positive performance reviews. By all outward appearances, I was doing well.
But inside, I still felt deeply inadequate.
No matter how much I learned or how much experience I gained, I couldn't shake the fear of making a mistake or being exposed as someone who didn't belong. Instead of getting better as I gained experience, my burnout kept getting worse.
For roughly two and a half years, I pushed through, hoping that eventually things would get easier. But they didn't.
Eventually, my conversations with my husband changed. I wasn't just frustrated with myself anymore. I was genuinely afraid of what would happen if I kept going.
I worried about my mental health. I worried about my marriage. I knew something had to change before I lost things that mattered far more to me than my career.
But the thought of stepping back filled me with guilt. I felt like a failure. Like I was letting everyone down because I couldn't handle what everyone else seemed able to manage.
I wanted so badly to be able to keep going.
But I couldn't. Something had to give.
I'd spent years trying to get better at managing everything life demanded of me. And yet, no matter how much I improved on the outside, something inside me wasn't changing.
I'd Spent Years Trying to Change What I Was Doing. But What If I Needed to Examine What I Believed?
For years, I'd been searching for a way out of my burnout.
I'd tried productivity strategies, time management techniques, therapy, and just about everything I could think of to make my life feel more manageable.
But what finally began changing things wasn't another strategy, a better routine, or becoming more capable of handling everything.
And the surprising part? I wasn't even looking for the answer where I eventually found it.
At the time, I was agnostic. I was simply curious about God and whether He actually existed, so I started reading and studying the Bible for myself.
But as I read, something unexpected happened. I began encountering a love and compassion unlike anything I'd understood before.
Scriptures challenged the way I saw myself, not through condemnation or another list of things I needed to do better, but through the gentle, tender truth of how God saw me.
And honestly, some of those truths were hard for me to believe. I remember thinking, "But that's not how I see myself."
As I continued exploring the Christian faith, I began developing enough trust in God to wonder whether my own understanding of myself might be wrong.
Instead of only asking myself:
"Why couldn't I seem to get my life together?"
I began asking a different question:
"What if the way I'd been seeing myself wasn't actually the truth?"
What if I'd been interpreting my life through beliefs I'd carried for so long that I didn't even realize I was believing them? I began to realize that changing my circumstances might not be enough if the beliefs shaping how I saw my life stayed the same.
Looking back, I could see how much of my struggle was tied to what I'd come to believe about myself.
I'd spent so much time feeling like a failure. I was afraid of making a mistake, of being exposed as someone who wasn't capable, and of letting everyone down.
Those fears were real to me, even as I became more competent and received positive performance reviews.
But I was beginning to see a difference between what I believed was true about myself and what God was showing me through His Word.
And when I came across something in Scripture that contradicted what I'd believed, I decided to try trusting what God said instead.
Not because I felt pressured to change, but because I was beginning to see that the God who loved me so deeply might understand something I didn't.
Little by little, I began approaching life differently: recognizing beliefs I'd taken for granted, questioning whether they were true, and returning to what God's Word said instead.
I'd spent years trying to change what I was doing without recognizing how much what I believed was influencing my life.
That discovery became the foundation of what I now call:
The Spiritual Root Method
My Spiritual Root Method helps burned-out Christian women identify the underlying lie contributing to their burnout by uncovering recurring patterns across different areas of their lives and showing them God's truth in its place, instead of continuing to manage symptoms without recognizing what's underneath.
Share What You're Experiencing
Begin by sharing what you've been experiencing across different areas of your life.
Recognize the Underlying Pattern
Examine recurring patterns to identify a dominant underlying lie you may not have realized you were carrying.
Discover God's Truth
See how that belief may have been influencing your experiences and discover what God's Word says in its place.
Because before you can begin replacing a lie with God's truth, you first have to recognize the lie you've been believing.
When I Started Examining What I Believed, Things Began to Change
And this discovery didn't just change the way I thought about burnout.
It became the turning point that changed the direction of my life.
As I began recognizing beliefs I'd carried for years and comparing them with what God said was true, I started choosing to trust His Word, even when it contradicted what my experiences had taught me.
And little by little, things began changing.
I started seeing myself differently. I began trusting God more deeply.
And for the first time in years, I began experiencing something all my previous attempts to manage burnout hadn't given me: a glimmer of genuine relief.
After feeling so exhausted and defeated for so long, even that small beginning gave me hope that things could actually change.
And that glimmer of relief was only the beginning.
As I continued growing in my faith and learning to live according to God's truth, the transformation in my life became profound.
Today, my life looks completely different.
I can handle responsibilities that once overwhelmed me. I can recognize when I'm slipping into old patterns and make adjustments before reaching the depths of burnout I used to experience. I can finish my workday and still have energy for the people and things I actually care about.
I haven't arrived at some perfect, struggle-free life. But I'm no longer living in the constant dread, exhaustion, and desperation that once defined my days.
And it all began when I stopped focusing exclusively on changing what I was doing and started examining what I believed.
That first step opened the door to the deeper transformation that followed.
The Spiritual Root Method is deeply rooted in biblical principles like renewing our minds, taking thoughts captive, and bringing our beliefs into alignment with God's truth.
I developed this approach from my own experience of applying those principles to the beliefs that had been influencing my life.
And when I began helping other women take that same first step, their feedback was encouraging.
Two different women. Two different experiences.
But both began recognizing something about their own thought patterns that they hadn't clearly seen before.
And when asked whether they'd recommend this experience to a friend feeling burned out, anxious, or overwhelmed, both answered, "Absolutely yes."
And that's exactly why this first step matters.
You can't begin intentionally replacing a belief with God's truth until you recognize the belief you've been carrying.
That moment of clarity can become the starting point for an entirely different way of approaching your struggles, and the hope that things really can change.

But How Do You Begin When You're Already So Exhausted?
Maybe you're thinking:
"This sounds meaningful, but I'm already so exhausted. I don't have the time or energy to start another process of trying to fix myself."
"I've tried so many other things before, and they haven't worked. Why would this be any different? I don't want to be let down again."
"I already know Scripture. Is this really going to teach me anything I don't already know?"
I understand.
When you're already struggling to keep up with your daily responsibilities, the last thing you need is another demanding routine, another long list of things to change, or one more reason to feel like you're falling behind.
And after trying so many things without finding the relief you've been hoping for, it makes sense that you'd hesitate to put your hope in something else.
But here's what makes this approach different.
Instead of giving you another strategy for managing everything you're doing, the Spiritual Root Method examines the beliefs underneath your recurring struggles.
And even if you already know what Scripture says, you may not recognize the beliefs through which you've been interpreting your own experiences.
God's Word hasn't changed. But you may begin seeing how His truth speaks to your struggles in a way you hadn't recognized before.
The first step is exploring what's happening underneath your struggles. But recognizing those patterns on your own isn't always easy.
To work through the Spiritual Root Method manually:
You'd have to examine your thoughts and experiences across different areas of your life.
Look for recurring patterns you may be too close to the situation to see for yourself.
Try to identify the underlying belief connecting those patterns.
Then examine that belief in light of what God's Word says is true.
That's a lot to sort through when you're already exhausted.
So I started asking a different question:
What if there were a way to make all of that simpler for you?
What if you didn't have to spend months trying to uncover those patterns on your own?
What if all you needed to do was answer some personalized questions about what you've been experiencing?
What if the difficult work of connecting those patterns and identifying an underlying belief could be done for you?
What if you could discover how God's Word speaks to that belief without having to search through the Bible yourself?
You don't have to overhaul your life to begin. And you don't have to figure everything out on your own.
And imagine what that moment of clarity could feel like.
Instead of wondering why nothing you've tried seems to work, you finally begin to see something you hadn't recognized before.
An aha moment. A glimmer of relief. A little hope that maybe things really can be different.
Because this first step isn't meant to add another burden to your life. It's meant to help you see a way forward.
And taking that first step can be much simpler than you might think, even with how overwhelmed you feel right now.

Step 3
Identify the Underlying Lie
Using those recurring patterns, the assessment identifies a dominant underlying belief for you to consider as a possible contributor to your burnout. Your Burnout Doesn't Happen in Isolation
You already know what it feels like to keep pushing through.
To wake up exhausted, spend another day trying to hold everything together, and go to bed wondering why you can't seem to get ahead.
And you keep telling yourself that maybe things will get better when life slows down. When the kids get older. When work isn't so demanding. When you finally find a routine that works.
But you've been waiting for things to get easier for a long time.
Maybe you've convinced yourself that you can endure another difficult season. That as long as everyone else is taken care of, you'll be okay.
But here's something worth considering.
When you're running on empty, it can affect how much patience you have left at the end of the day. How present you feel with your husband or children. How much energy you have for friendships, your faith, or the things that bring you joy.
Not because you don't love those people or aren't trying hard enough. But because you're human. And carrying that much exhaustion takes a toll.
You may think pushing through is the best way to keep caring for everyone else. But what if continuing to neglect your own struggles is making it harder to show up for the very people you're trying to protect?
And what if the answer isn't simply another schedule change, another vacation, or another attempt to become better at handling everything?
Those things may help. But if there's a belief underneath your exhaustion that you haven't recognized, you may keep carrying the same pressure from one season into the next.
The real cost isn't simply another difficult day.
It's continuing to carry that pressure into the parts of your life that matter most.
Another exhausting day.
Another difficult season.
Another stretch of life spent pushing through and hoping things will get easier.
And over time, that pressure can grow.
You don't have to wait until you're at a breaking point to take your struggles seriously.
Taking the time to understand what's contributing to your burnout isn't selfish.
It matters for you. And it matters for the people you love.
Because when you begin moving toward greater peace and freedom, you're not necessarily taking something away from your family.
You may be making room to give them more of the woman you want to be.
And that journey can begin by uncovering something you've been carrying that you didn't even realize was there.
So before you put this off until another season, consider:
"If nothing changes, what makes you think the next season will feel any different?"
You don't have to spend another season overlooking a belief that may be contributing to your struggles, especially when your burnout affects the people and priorities you care about.
You Don't Have to Wait for Life to Slow Down to Begin
Get started for just $7 during this introductory launch period. My plan is to eventually increase the price to $27.
But the most important reason to begin now isn't the price.
It's easy to tell yourself you'll figure this out when life slows down.
When work gets less demanding.
When your family needs less from you.
When you finally have the time and energy to focus on yourself.
But what if that perfect moment never comes?
You've already spent so much time trying to push through, hoping the next season will be easier.
You don't have to keep waiting for your circumstances to change before you begin understanding what's happening underneath your burnout.
And you don't need to find the energy for a complete life overhaul.
You can begin with a few minutes of honest reflection and a chance to discover something about your struggles you may not have recognized before.
That first moment of clarity could be the beginning of a different way forward.
You deserve to stop wondering whether things will ever change and start discovering where change might begin.
You don't have to have everything figured out. You just have to be willing to take the first step.
Answer personalized questions about what you've been experiencing.
